10 ways to help the planet

Sustainable Swaps

~Upgrade your grocery bags to reusable ones

Next someone asks paper or plastic, try reusable!

~Use a sustainable shampoo

Unfortunately, shampoos have done lasting damage to our water supply. When you rinse your hair the shampoo goes down the drain, leaving them to be sent down into the water supply, polluting a variety of environments including wastewater, surface water, sediment, groundwater, and drinking water. Then there are the plastic bottles used to hold your shampoo. Many of them are either only partially recyclable or cannot be recycled, so they end up in our oceans and landfills.

~Start cooking plant-based foods

Plant based foods are not only good for the environment, but good for you! It is proven from the research from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health that you can decrease your risk of type 2 diabetes. A study published in Frontiers in Nutrition investigated the diets of 34,000 people and concluded that eating regimes rich in fruits and vegetables were better for the planet than those high in animal products. If you can't stop eating meat at least try to cut back the amount you consume regularly, it could help our planet.
